Heat and service

Hi all. After rebuilding my z4 last year the one thing that alluded me was heat in the car. It ran fine and never overheated but the cabin never warmed up.

So I decided to do a full service on her and flush and clean the heating system a few times and happy days I have heat. I had to cut the pipes from the fire wall as they were not for moving!

I’ve changed
Air filter
Cabin air filter (my god that was full of crap)
Spark plugs (see image and video - I think all is good here as soot is good and no sign of oil on the old ones)

Just need to flush the coolant a few times (it currently has cleaner and deionised water in it) change the oil and oil filter and change the rear diff oil.

Happy days.

I agree there plenty of crap behind that filter and the plugs look good, hope temperatures don’t drop below freezing if there’s antifreeze in there.

Yeah I am a bit worried about that but I didn’t drain the engine block so I’m hoping there’s enough coolant left in there to stop it freezing!

Leave the coolant cap off to allow for expansion if it does freeze. Better still, drain the rad.

I went out and drained it all. Looked a right a sight under the car in Pj’s and my slippers
