Heart ablation has backfired.

Hmm upon relfection assuming your INR is well controlled on warfarin a pulmonary emboli is rather unlikely -forgot you mentioned that sorry .

INR is stable around 24-25. Take your point on seeing the surgeon/ cardiologist but I may well need another ablation so I see him anyway after xmas to wear a monitor for a week to check the hearts rthymn. GP suggested an emboli early on but that's been checked for. I will definately ask GP for a slot to see a pulmonologist, good thinking. Thanks for your posts, much appreciated MP. :)

Not been online much since I was travelling to the UK - sorry to hear this John, it can't be much fun sitting around bored. I hope that 2017 is a much better year for you.

Couple of things I could suggest if you are very bored, although not sure if this is of interest to you.

Grab yourself a secondhand X52 Pro flight control system for a PC and learn how to fly (if you can't already) with DCS world. They have a Spitfire addon which requires you to fully master the plane. A complete startup procedure is required (fuel pump, priming, ignition coils, etc etc). My girlfriends father learnt to fly with this sim, we bought him some flight time at the local airport and on his first go up he only needed slight corrections on landing. Maybe this would be something to look forward to after the year is up? I'm about to buy a new 1080 Nvidia card so I can hook up a VR headset, I'd happily donate and ship you my Nvidia 970 GTX if you need a graphics card

Another idea it to buy a cheap desktop 3d printer, couple of hundred quid or less, and design up some models or useful bits. There are lots of existing designs on the net you can adapt, pretty interesting learning curve.

You could sign up to an online course and learn something new: https://alison.com/ https://www.udemy.com/

You can also learn Raspberry Pi - plenty of cool things to look into https://thepihut.com/

There's some good stuff there Stuart, many thanks. TBH I'm not really into gaming etc, about half an hour on a racing game on my sons PS4 is about my limit but looking at some vids on the tube of flying I could maybe get into that, sure beats watching most TV. 2nd hand controllers and rudders look ok price wise on the bay, I may well give it a go.

I'll be doing a course of some sort, most probably my theory Part P in electrics, but I also need to get into the 21st century so a computer course as well. Plenty to keep me occupied.

Thanks for the links etc, mate, I'll keep you posted on the flight stuff.

Yep, it would be a stretch to call it gaming, as it's pretty hard work - took me an hour just to take off, couldn't get the bloody engine to start. Definitely a simulator rather than a game

You can buy some ultra realistic scenes too, flying around America, or the mountains - almost like for like the real deal.

Computer courses are a good idea too

 An hour to start the engine...I mustn't laugh, I'll struggle to turn the monitor on.. :D

I like the spitfire idea, plus mountain, coast flying etc. Definately be looking more into this Stuart.
