A few friends and I are all looking to get a catback exhaust fitted with a view to upgrade to a full system in the future.

My friend said they are highly regarded by many others although I have never come across them. I have received a very competitive quote from them and they sounded they know their stuff. My friend has spoke with Charlie at ProSpeed as he is booking an appointment in to get his 100c sports cats fitted to his Jag Xtype:

"Regarding the Z4M he instantly stated that with sports cats it gets too loud and before I said you wanted just a cat-back he suggested the same! Sounds like he knows his stuff - I told him you didn't want it too loud and u been listening to different exhausts online and he said a mid sport cat-back with staggered tailpipes to fit the rear bumper would be perfect. He was flicking through papers, so guess he orders precise parts to fit and knew tips needed to be staggered. He hadnt done a Z4M but many Z3Ms and M3s. His quote was £520 inc. VAT. Good hey????
Regarding a VX220...I didn't say the Lotus as you asked Tim, and for a 2.0 Supercharged toyota engine (thats right??) the cost for a single twin mid sport cat-back exhaust was £320 inc VAT. (This is for my other friend's Europa S)"

So what you guys think?? Has anyone come across these guys and what is their work like? So far I must say I have listend to Supersprint, Eisenmann, Remus, H&S and i must say I am only impressed by the sound of Sixspeed's car :D

But due to the crunch you cant blame me for looking at cheaper alternatives hoping to find a good bargain without sacrifising quality!

Thanks,
funk.

He has done a Z4M, to be precise in 2006 and it costed £360 then. I think the owner still has this exhaust for sale if you would want it.

Thanks...

who is the owner?

Do you know much about ProSpeed then? Anygood in comparison to other top exhausts mentioned?

He took it off as he found the noise a bit too much on long runs. Sounded nice, bigger pipes as well.

Strangely enough, the M was cheaper then a 3.0.

Exhaust itself and service were fine, nice product.

ProSpeed in Cardiff, right?

If so, they have a great reputation on Cliosport (yup ). I was lucky not to need an exhaust replaced during ownership of my Clio 172, but they typically last for 3 years/30k miles only, and a lot of folk on there used ProSpeed, including a few mates from the Glasgow area. They thought it was worth the journey after hearing/seeing exhausts on other Clios.

Yes A11y, it was indeed ProSpeed Cardiff. People travel from Glasgow to the place? That is real dedication! Shame I have not seen many Z4Ms using them cause I'd be interested to hear the noise..

Let me see if I can at least find a picture for you ...

The owner is located south of London, so if interested I can always approach him to see for a sales price (he has sold the M).

any info would be great pvr, I m in East London. keen to hear the noise from the thing before deciding whether I like it or not!

yea i understand. but if your friend is keen to get rid of it cheapy i might just buy it off him anyway and try it myself. At the meantime I am trying to do more reseatch on ProSpeed...
