Health & safety french style ?

just back from normandy where the barn roof was done with local guys . once a makeshift scaffold had been used to remove the old & attach new timbers they left this unfortunate to get on with the slating in a more " freestyle " kind of fashion :cry: & not even a high viz vest :P

That is definitely brave... Not sure what a high vis vest would contribute though - other than to stop someone driving over his broken body in the road :o
 
That's how life should be. Take the risks you want, but dont expect to sue if it goes wrong.

Darwin's theory of evolution + this generations stupidity would secure a brighter future for us all.

Sorry Mr B . i was being sarcastic as its now illegal to drive a car in france without a vest present for the driver but it seem's ok to risk life & limb 15feet up :cry:
 
You need to have a vest for all occupants of the car, not just the driver. (and must be accesible from the car, ie not in the boot)

Don,t think its a legal requirement for all passengers but from 2008 the driver must be able to put it when exiting the vehicle . in the boot is a no-no :|

but without regs companies would force you to take risks
 
That's where its gone wrong. Because everyone will sue at the drop of a hat, regs need to cover every possible eventuality until they prevent things getting done in a timely manor.

People should be responsible enough to use a microwave in a workplace canteen without H&S stipulating you must display warning signs of hot items etc.
