So what features does the OEM kit kit? I've got the Intravee as that had the best reviews, is the OEM the one where you have to have 5 BMW playlists or something?

Genuine question thats all...

Yes, thats it.

5 BMW playlists?

Whats that all about?

I'm potentially interested in this kit also as I was contemplating a DICe or Parrot system...

Can anyone clarify if by looking at the illustrated picture, if this kit is all you require to install then plug in your iPod and your away?

Cheers

i have 1, not sure about the play list thing though, think mine just plays all songs in order - just 1 big list

You set 5 playlists up with your itunes at home as BMW1-5, button 6 is everything on the ipod. Controlled like a CD changer but not as good as a CD changer although you can obviously have a lot of stuff on it. Id buy one for the right price but not what BMW want for them!

According to the stereo manual, if you put playlists on callled something like "BMW1 - Favorite", "BMW2 - Driving" etc you can get them via the numbers 1-5 on the head unit. Playlist 6 plays all songs. Or if you unplug the ipod, find something and play it, then plug it back in, that comes up as CD7.

cheers for that, will have to give that a go at weekend

only other pet hate is no track info

Sounds interesting...wonder how much these kits go from BM...a couple of hundred quid or something ridiculous like that I'd imagine!

Is there a guide on fitting or is it pretty straight forward?

Cheers for that mate...if I go for it I'll be sure to drop you a line...its going to be between this kit and the DICE unit for me...if the price stays reasonable on this kit I'll go for it.

I have the dension equiv. which give slightly more functionality. Don't know how it can be said not a good as a CD changer though.

I generally only use the play lists or which only 2 of them

1 is set up for recently added using a dynamic list from itunes giving the last 90 days of new music.

2 is anything I have rated with 5 start again through itunes dynamic playlist function.
