Ooh this looks pretty interesting. Can't seem to find the serial number in any of the OEM guides though so not sure which headunit this will work with. I'm waiting on the seller getting back to me.

I did have a look at bmwfans.info/original it didn't mention anything about z4 under that part number but have a look at this:

For what it's worth the Dealer fitted BMW kit I have has a very definitive ipod plug in black and meaty in size nothing like the apple oem wire that appears in pic :?
