Heads Up Display

Just been to see a new G29 and there's no heads up display. I thought the HUD was standard. Have they dropped it due to shortages or am I mistaken that it was standard?

Not standard, even in M40i. Part of the Technology pack along with updated sound system. Somewhere around £2k iirc

That's interesting..... I bought what I thought was a bog standard one year old 2.0 nearly two years ago and it has Harman Kardon speakers and HUD. What else was in the technology Pack? Maybe I have the technology pack and don't know it!

I have an M40i with technology pack. I think it contained the HUD, HK music system and rear parking camera.

I wear prescription sunglasses and when I had the HUD in my 4 series the glasses made it completely invisible! It was bloody annoying. We have another car with HUD (not a BM) and that is fine with my SGs. :?

Just wondering if wearing polorized sunglasses can affect seeing the HUD and or the instrument display.?

I used to have some in a previous car , and i had difficulty in seeing certain read outs..

PS i dont currently have any polorized glasses, but am contemplating getting some....

I don’t use polarised sunglasses in my g29 because I am unable to properly read the regular and head up displays with them on. I have an old pair of non polarised sunglasses that I keep in the car for use when it is sunny.

In the US, the HUD was only available on the M40i in the '22 model year but has returned as an option on all '23 models.

The manual confirms you can 'tilt' the headup display which keeps it visible even for polarised glasses. I was out in the motor yesterday (with polarised glasses on) and to be fair I can't even recall if the headsup was still visible!!

Woah. That’s news to me. Where is this option to tilt?

It's in car settings. I have played around with tilt quite a bit just for preference on how it looks.
