Guys,,as the euro is really strong at the moment consider buying bits from Germany for a good deal,,,I've been trawling eBay.de for sometime not for anything in particular but I sourced a supplier from there as I was in the market for a set of Bilstein B6 dampers,,,after confirming he can supply I have ordered them delivered to the UK for the sum of £464 give or take a few quid on the exchange when it it processed,,might have to pay a bit of tax on them on entry to UK but still a bargain without doubt....... :driving:
 
Nope you won't need to pay anything extra on import here from EU. And yes, it's a good idea, you can save quite a bit but you may find you have issues with warranty should you need it.
 
I think you mean the pound is strong against the euro. EU purchases have no additional taxes to pay as Tom said - that's the whole point of it. You might get warranty grief if needed but you have 2 years across the EU.

MetroBank offer fee free transactions in the EU so are worth opening an account with.

I think you can get B8's for less or similar with shipping though.
 
I posted on this some months ago. If you do a bit more searching you can get prices quite a bit lower than quoted by OP. I bought my B8's here he charged £25 carriage to the UK and I had them in 3 days, nothing more to pay. Seems a large supplier and has lots in stock from many other shock manufacturers.
 
Bought some billys for a different car from http://www.mk-fahrwerkstechnik.de/ - smooth and fast transaction with a 2% discount if you pay by bank transfer. As others have said there's no duty or taxes to pay - they charge VAT at the German rate of 19% and then shipping of perhaps €20 or €25 and that's it.
 
Yes, here it is, the equivalent of £175 plus postage, mine arrived yesterday, should have time to fit it over Christmas!
