Headlights

I have used the search function and found a lot about headlights but not quite what I am after, I know it is nigh on impossible to get rid of the amber on a pre facelift model although it has been done so I started looking at after-market units but noticed none of them are suitable for factory fit xenons, does anyone know of any that are?

I am also under the impression that facelift ones wont fit, am I right in thinking this?

Hi Chris,

I think you're right about the aftermarket ones. They aren't suitable for xenon.

Facelift xenons will fit, but you'll need some wiring done. JaxZ4 has fitted facelift xenon units on his pre-facelift, and had some initial issues with main beam, which are now sorted (as far as I know).

On my pre facelift roadster (with xenons), I did the "cut and shut" method, bought a pair of facelift halogens, then cut both sets of headlights open, and swapped the clear hockey sticks with the amber ones. I also tinted out the indicator candles with silver film, thus removing any trace of amber from the headlight units. Took me a day from start to finish, and looked great

The units I have are aftermarket and Xenon compatible. The only downside is that they are shipped configured for left hand drive and therefore not legal in the UK.

However they have 4 adjustment screws on the back which adjust the up down, left, right and flip the beam pattern also so if you know what you're doing or just drive up close to a garage door or something in the evening you can do it yourself.

I can't for the life of me remember where I ordered them from, but it was a company in the states. :headbang:

arn't all those aftermarkets the same ? never seen big difference in them.

They aren't suitable for a factory xenon kit but can be fitted with an aftermarket kit. You'd be better off modding your headlights.
