Headlights

Surely you would only need auto-levelling if you used the inside pair of HIDs as dipped, so you had 4 dipped beams. If they're main beams only then AFAIK you can do whatever you want.

I'm guessing the inner centre bulb (red glow) is actually the bulb for the AE. I say that as that's the case on my 1er. It serves no other purpose

re ribbed lens, was reading up on another forum about a guy who swapped over from ribbed lens to clear he then complained there was too much of a cutoff of light. The slight ribbed circles in the light I believe provide some spread of the light above the cutoff but not enough to blind oncoming traffic. Imagine going down a dark country road and the cutoff is so sharp that you cannot see anything past it for example roadsigns. I do think the sharp cutoff looks cool though!

Ranski: re auto levelling arms, i believe the stock xenons which I have the levelling motor moves the entire reflector dishes so both high beam and low beam? I could be wrong though... that seems to be the case with the motor that drives the halogen level adjuster which I have 2 of as donors in the cellar. If another dual xenon were fitted on the high beam side it should move both up and down?

My wife's Honda has xenons, an un-ribbed lens and a very sharp cut off, as I thought all xenons have. However there is still enough 'spread' to see road signs. I thought ranski changed his to stop the spread that can dazzle oncoming drivers...

yes thats right Bing

Ah, got it. I was thinking that your non-xenon light had a lens on it (i.e. full beam). I was looking at covering this with a lens, as I thing the current open reflector looks pants, and thought it had been done before.
