Russ59, I think you would want the tab there as I find the top ones key to positioning the light on the car. But, it should be easily sorted - the picture below is one of my lights - G-10, can you confirm it's the tab on the left at the top? A picture would help your cause - a few of us have done repairs on these things and can explain what can be done... and how easily

this is not the sale item...

You can easily plastic weld these things. IIRC the missing tab is pretty much flat with a support onto the back. If you got a small sheet of plastic (can send you some if you need it, Russ) you could weld it on to the light and then drill the hole - using you existing light as a template. The welds are really strong.

Thanks for the post
Yes it is the tab on the top left. I have repaired many lugs on headlights i usually make a tab from aluminium and attach it. This can be done for a buyer at a small cost.

I Have Xenons, if I were to buy the clear Halogen Light can i just put my current bulbs into it making it a xenon headlight?? or is there more to it then that?

Quite a bit more, alot of people obviously buy these cut them open to get the clear indicator and/or the black housing then you cut yours open to install.. All bits are interchangeable but its not just bulbs/filaments that make them xenons, theres the ballasts auto levers etc..

CJ's the current expert IMO so check his guides/threads

I can't believe this facelift headlamp has nt been snapped up already! Judging by what they go for on eBay I thought this was a fair price. if it wasn't for my current gamble of saving a few quid to buy individual z4m alloys (hoping to end up with full set at half going rate) I would ve gambled on buying this and finding its partner on sale elsewhere........

correct me if I am wrong,if I buy the pre-facelift one for conversion,I need to cut it open and then ? do I need do anything with my original lights or they'd be spare?

sorry, have had a look at CJ's guide, but as I am not really technical, would appreciate if someone shed some light on this.

cheers.

Basically from what I've read pre and post parts were all the same size so if you cut both lights open you can swap pieces around.. Your orginal will be cut open and new pieces placed in

I have read CJ's guide before, was hoping to avoid cutting lights open tho, if you get it wrong then you have a car with no headlights...
plus im not sure that my plastic cutting/welding skills are up to this challenge... otherwise id take that facelift light off your hands

out of interest how much for postage to Australia? the more i look at those clear indicators, the more i want them :headbang:
