Are these two different types of headlight a plug and play swap (2003/2005 E85)?

The second unit is not OEM. It's aftermarket. But not sure whether there is much re-wiring to be done. Physically, I believe it's plug and play.

Thank you - i did wonder about that as its on my 2003 car and looks much better than the one on my newer car!

If the clear one is by "2Excite" supplier which I retrofitted to a 2003 2.5 2 years ago then it is plug and play except for : Halo connection - needs to be wired to side light or combination of your choice.
Check bulb holder connectors - some of the earth wires are just pushed in down the side and I had to solder when the lights started flickering after a couople of weeks use.

Just a word of warning, the retrofit lights are only plug and play if you have halogen headlights in the first place. If you have oem bi-xenon there is not an aftermarket version in the UK, they sell one in the states but would need conversion to our side of the road

thanks for that, these are both my UK cars, I just noticed this morning that the older car has nicer looking lights so i thought i'd swap them over! I also think the orange indicators make it look quite dated these days. I'll pop the bonnet later on and take a look at the wiring. I'm currently trying to get AUX working on the radio - that's causing me issues as well!
