Headlights - missing something or position?

Can anyone help please? I have an E86 which is new to me and I noticed while cleaning that there was a larger gap than I would've expected between the headlight and the bodywork all the way around - you can see all the way through.

I’ve checked back on photos of my old coupe and it looked to be pretty tight. I can’t work out whether I’m missing a rubber gasket around the front top/sides of the headlight or it’s been moved at some point by a previous owner and they haven’t quite got the position right. Or is it normal and I’m being pedantic!

Cheers

I had exactly the same thought process as also had huge gaps. I've just put facelift headlights on and deliberately made sure both sides were nearer the wing and it definitely looks a lot better - quite hard to position them *exactly* right though so they have constant and consistent gaps between bonnet, wing and bumper (no I didn't manage it 100%).

Safe in the knowledge that you would be squished beyond reasonable repair!

Thanks - suppose I’ll have to live with it as it’s not bad enough for me to take the bumper off... yet...
