Hi team

Got condensation in my right headlight, i wanted to change the back cover to new one when im going to dry the reflector. Thing is my back cover is nothing like oem one.. i have halo angel eyes on my car(got it like this) and back cover is completly different

i have these on my car i think: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/151630000224

i will get rid of condensation but what to do then to prevent it from happening again? the only part i could change is that round rubber cover that i took off and is not on the pic.. any suggestions?

I'm a new owner of halo lights, fitted them last week. The passenger one has condensation in it as of today. I am thinking of putting some grease around the rubber light seals, short of that I'm not sure what else I can do.

geez that sucks! week long and already problem?? did you bought new or pre used?
yea i think the only thing i could do is change the rubber round cap at the back..

I have the same lights. Occasionally I get a little condensation in the morning but it soon goes away. You could possibly drill small breather holes in the bottom it let air in. It might help, if it bothers you that much.

i have it condensed a lot, and for a long time so im pretty sure it wont go away on its own. im just wondering what to do since on oem i would dry it and change back cover, now i can only dry lock again and hope for best

I got the condensation issue the other year after I changed my bulbs in the dead of winter and it took a little longer than planned. I ended up removing both headlights from the car, draining the water out and leaving them in the house to dry out for 48hrs before making sure the back seal was on snug and refitted them.

Issue solved (there was another reason for taking them out - replaced the ballasts - but it got the job done). Taking the headlights off is pretty straight forward, although you do need to disconnect the front bumper.

I'm an advocate of using OEM, as they've done solid R&D.

I would advise against drilling holes, the OEM lights are built with weep holes for moisture. 3 of them. Just ensure they are clear (as with all weep holes they can get clogged - these aftermarket ones must have them too).

Then ensure there is sufficient seal on the rear cover. As this light isn't OEM, I'd say try dry it (inside is preferable to hairdryer - I saw one on ebay not long ago where the hairdryer had melted the lense creating a ripple). Speak to the supplier and source a replacement cover. They must do them, it would be stupid not to. Alternatively measure the diameter and try find something online.

Drying won't be enough, some sort of cover will still be needed to keep water out. Good luck with it all

thanks for your message. i personally wouldnt mind having oem light, but the one i have look very cool, are in great condition aprat from that condensation. and they are clear without amber indicator which i prefer

and its actually made me think, it happen shortly after i changed bulbs to more powerfull so probably took me too long and weather wasn't perfect.

not bad idea with contacting them about the back cover or at least that rubber

I did the same with a work vehicle once, had to change the bulb and obviously didn't push the rubber cover on hard enough... said rubber cover promptly went missing. Probably on the M25 somewhere! Hah!

OEM are good but have gone up quite a bit since I started looking at lights, you're looking at £200-250 EACH for a pre-facelift!
