Afternoon all! So one task over the weekend is to bench test a set of headlights I've recently acquired (make sure it's all working). I was wondering if anyone can assist with the wiring set up?

Unsure really what you are looking for? Do you intend to test using a power supply or a spare battery? Assuming you are using a battery - Connect a reasonable sized wire to the negative ( 2.5mm or AWG 10, 12,14 will suffice ) to carry the current consumed but I assume you are just testing not leaving on for long amounts of time? :D Connect this to pin 1 of the lamp socket which is the earth side of all lights except low beam. Connect same size wire to the battery positive with an inline fuse of 7A or 10A this will allow a little leeway for suge on switch on. 55W bulb draws about 5 Amps.
Watts/Volts = Amps. Connect the positive wire to pins 4,3,5,6 to test respective lights. Remove both wires from connector on lamp then connect negative to 2 and positive to 7 to test low beam.
I hope this helps and makes sense

Hi mate, yes I’ll be using a normal 12v car battery and it’s simply to ensure the headlight is working electronically as it should (mechanical height adjustment will have to be checked on the car).

Will only have it on for a few seconds per light. And primarily wanted to check the pins are as per my original post and I’m not connecting positives to where I shouldn’t, and vice versa with the negative!

So judging by your post everything is the same so will give it a go! Cheers!
