I share a similar dislike of largely pointless equipment like headlamp washers. They are required by law with xenons and are part of the MOT, as ranski says dirty lamps scatter light and blind oncoming drivers. The washers are relatively unreliable frequently leaking, blocking, freezing up or popping off the cover complete with jet at the first sign of frozen snow on the car (the cover sticks to the bumper and is pushed off when the system activates). Lots of threads about problems.

They a bit of grime on the headlight can't make that much difference surely?
I know about the problems - one of my covers had been replaced as it popped off. Still need to get it painted..it's an annoying black blob on the front of my silver car at the mo. Grr.
