Headlight washer removal. A few questions.

Good morning..
I'm soon to be performing this operation and I'd love any words of wisdom.

Where is the best place to block the hose?
Should I remove fuse 40?
Do I need to code anything out?
Do I just tie up the electrics?

Thanks.

I assume you are completely removing all the pipework? I would.
Then, cut a short piece of the pipe, block one end with a bolt wrapped with plumbers tape and secured with a jubilee clip. Push the other end back onto the pump.
You could then either pull Fuse 40, or unplug the pump, or both. The plug can simply be wrapped to make it waterproof and tied back along the loom.

I did the same thing with wifey's car, but I simply swapped the washer bottle for a single pump one.
However, you may well have a fluid level sensor in yours and would therefore need to find a bottle that has the necessary float fitted.

Yes yes, planning to remove everything I can.

These are wise words, and pretty much what I had in mind, thanks.

There's quite a short pipe from the pump to a T piece that has two pipes, one for each washer. I disconnected the short pipe from the T piece and blocked that by winding a bolt into it after I got fed up with them leaking. I had already pulled Fuse 40 a few years ago but one still managed to leak.

I've left everything else in place in case a subsequent owner wants to risk using them!
