The leak is between the plastic housing and the pressed steel cylinder inside, so I don't think cleaning it will help in my case, unless I'm mistaken. It leaks without being pressurised, so switching it off wouldn't prevent the leak unfortunately!Scooba_Steve said:My passenger side washer also leaks. Some have cleaned them out, I got a plastic tap and coded the washers to off.
Ah I see what you meant now. There's definitely a growing temptation to fit a bung and disconnect the headlight washer pump! :lol:Scooba_Steve said:And that's why I put a tap in. £5 vs £70 for a new unit.
That's what I'm thinking. It's only an occasional car anyway so it doesn't stay dirty long enough for it to need to wash its own lights! I'll just go for the fuse and bung option. Thanks for your input buddyScooba_Steve said:Then defo save £70! I have connections in south Somerset, pulling the plug out and bunging will work but happy to code if our paths cross.
Marlon said:I lost the whole unit plus the cover in the frost. Priced up replacement unit and cover then imagined losing it all again in the future, then questioned the usefulness of p*ssing vast quantities of water almost everywhere except the headlights anyway and decided to remove the fuse to the highlight pump and just bought the cover, sprayed it red and fixed it in place.
Due to removing all the hoses apart from the short length that connects to the pump...and that is now bunged and the bumper's back on. Done!Scooba_Steve said:NO LONGER WANTED

Corrected for you
