Headlight washer jets

Looks like my washer jets aren't working after all, put could use some confirmation before i go poking at it any more

Do the headlight washer jets fire everytime you do the pull back on the stalk?
Atm when i'm testing it i'm

-turning car on > lights on > stalk pull
-jets pop up for the first time, no water, they pop up again for the second time with a small burst on the drivers headlight then down (no water at all from passenger side but it did pop up)
now if i pull the stalk again the windscreen jets go as normal but not the headlight ones don't, my patience doesn't allow me to wait a few mins so i turn car on off again and it'll repeat the above.

Pulled the waterbottle out, cleaned it all out, cleaned the gauzes and replaced the headlight washer pump just in case, same story as above.

is this going be a piping issue or something then? and is it a bumper off job to get at it/splitter

The washers only go every three to four pulls on the stalk, usually the first time and then every three or four there after on the E85/E86.

Sounds like your jets might be blocked as its the water pressure that forces them out.

I had a few problems with mine.

1) pump going from bottle to pipe - nozzle had broken and been bodged on.
2) pipe had an airlock.
3) headlight washer jet was leaking.

Sorted those out and they work perfect now.

I definitely recommend you taking the bumper off as you can easily see the problems then.

think it's an airlock or the jets are blocked.

the start of the pipe is grand at least as i had to unclip/hook it to the new pump, the gauze was minging but the bottle and those are pretty much grand now after some scrubbing and a dishwasher tablet

If I remember correctly there are two connectors on the pump, take the one off that is the feed for the windscreen washers,so all the water goes to the headlight washers. This worked when I had an airlock.

aye i've given that a bash (well i disconnected the power to the windscreen washer pump_

no joy :/

True, but they should also fire up straight away after turning the engine and lights on, first time.

Then just keep turning engine off and back on. That's how I did mine, else you'll be there all day.

aye that's what i've been doing, but no joy clearing it

what i might do when i get home is unplug the windscreen jet power and put it on the washer jets, i'm assuming that's how it controls the burst/intermittent use so i could just hold my stalk in and force a constant stream and maybe sort any airlock like that

ok reversed the connections so i could just push water through it constantly and keep the jets popped up.
nothing came out either side, got my da to try clean the tip of one nozzle, then it starts spraying properly , still nothing from side that was working.
fiddle with non working side, it will only spray when he's putting pressure on it when holding it
give up since it's pitch black , put the connections back, neither side spray with the standard short burst

if i get the jets to pop out and put a quick release clamp on them to keep them there am i able to pop off the nozzle head or?
