Headlight Washer Fix???

Dear fellow enthusiasts,

I've just returned from a short trip in the Z to discover the remains of one of my headlight washers on the drive. Now I know little pesky things are a pain in the arse and I'm thinking of deactivating them via the fuse box when it's back in (previous threads indicate its fuse 40). In the interim can anybody advise if this is a simple snap back in job or more complex? The attached picture shows the cover and what appears to be a bit missing from the bracket.



Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Cover is broken, you will need a new one. About £12. Just had to buy one myself.

Presume the jet will just push in. Did you pull it out?

Jet wash also popped out at the same time. Only reason I spotted it was a line of water on the drive when I got back.

Mine snapped off, had if fixed under warranty. I avoid using these washers because of this weakness, and they don't seem to wash very well either. When lights are on, I flick the washer stalk enough to spray the windscreen, but not enough to activate the headlight washers.

cover looks ok? one side is meant to loop on and the other just pushes onto clip...also you can deactivate them by disconnecting the pump rather than pulling the fuse

I think i have a spare one with broke bits that clip to the cover. Your welcome to have it and try and make a good one of the 2.

Im only looking at this on my phone so maybe Im not seeing something you are...what part is broken as it looks the same as the one i had off mine a few weeks ago?

They are prone to popping off in frosty weather if the windscreen washer mixture is on the weak side.

Nope, it is broken.

Im only looking at this on my phone so maybe Im not seeing something you are...what part is broken as it looks the same as the one i had off mine a few weeks ago?

The one with the loop. Broken exactly where mine did when I removed for painting

Used some fairy liquid for lubrication when refitting. Was worried about breaking again.

I purchased a new cover then the correct spray. Clipped it all back together and then reassembled only to find that the whole thing keeps popping out every time I push the washers. I think that there must be a section of the cylindrical hose attachment missing? Anybody else had the same problem?

Sorry Machine Monkey. Only just seen this. Thanks for the offer. Already went ahead and purchased one as I'm told it's an MOT failure and the buggers booked in tomorrow.
