Headlight/sidelight bulbs

Morning all

Having an issue with the lights on my E85. Side light bulb has failed, I have removed the wheel and accessed the bulbs but Im not sure what to order, not seen a bulb like this before. It has xenon headlights. Pic attached. TIA, cheers Jay

Does the bulb pull out the holder? They’re normally W5W bulbs I think which that looks like it might be.

It is actually a small quarter turn bulb that has been overmolded (weird way for BMW to charge you more or something..). You can carefully free up the channels to allow you to rotate and pull the bulb out and then replace with a new one either incandescent or LED for some nice white angel eyes that match the xenons. There are some example on the forum or online

That's great, thanks. Yes the bulb pushes down and quarter turn release. I'll get new ones ordered

I had the same problem replacing a sidelight on my E90 and had to "adapt" the bulb-holder to get the blown bulb out and a new one in.

Wasn't going to let BMW force me onto buying the whole fitting!
