has any body ever used Tcut headlight restoration kit, looking at that one as you dont have to use abrasive discs (less chance of damaging paintwork) just wondering whether it would be any good or not.Any advice would be welcome.

Just tape up around the lights and you'll be fine.

Not used Tcut myself but I found the Meguiars kit to be really good.

I used the 3M kit on mine. No damage to surrounding bodywork as I taped them up, as said above.

Great results, 4 years ago. Needs doing again as the finish doesn't last forever, despite using a UV protecting sealant.

Just a word on the above. Also use the tape to hold down something like news paper to the paintwork. The stuff you use is very abrasive and can actually damage paint wiping it off. Better to be safe than sorry.

But the 3m kit is pretty damn good. Needs a corded drill rather than a battery though. Much more power.

Thanks for the help Halfords do the meguiars kit Ill get one over the weekend and give it a go, Just finished cleaning and waterproofing the roof.(Autoglym)

I actually used the 3M kit, rather than Meguiars (I just remembered) with a battery powered makita drill and the results above speak for themselves

Haha I edited my original post, hence the apparent confusion.

I only realised after looking online to purchase another kit and noticing I've never seen the Meguiars one before, but recognised the 3M one

I did mine with the Holts kit using the pads in a battery powered drill and the UV sealant to finish which has held up very well. Previous efforts with abrasive polish and no sealant only lasted a few months before starting to haze again.

What are you guys using the protect the finish afterwards? Without a sealant, the plastic will go cloudy again. Mine lasted a couple of years before it went back to how it was before. I used a sealant I purchased from Amazon, but I'm wondering if it's better to just Polish and wax them every few months instead?

Yep, bought some of this to apply post clean. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00A3S1RGU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Minty toothpaste is just as effective and leaves a lovely taste. Then wash away and coat with silicon sealant. Did mine a few years ago and still fine.

Think we're both on the same page lol. Same thing on the rear lights thread. I asked this a while back and the lamin-x product MACK suggested was used on headlights? Was thinking I could give it a go with just lacquer and see what happens!
