Headlight refurb with a twist

Yah I'm referring to the headlight assembly! But rather the inside...
I've had the outer plastic lens polished as best as possible, but there's some cloudyness occurring on the inside face. In my opinion, crystal clear headlights really stand out and can add that extra immaculate factor to a car, so I'm wondering can this be done?
No way would I attempt to do this myself, so does anyone know firstly is it actually possible for a pro to disassemble a headlight to polish the inside face of the cover? Secondly, does anyone know of a specialist who will do this at a price that's cheaper than sourcing new units?

Second question to anyone with M knowledge, is there anything spectacularly special about the OEM units that ship on the M? I'm looking at units like these and thinking mmmm:

But then I think, is swapping out the OEM units going to be a downgrade... I do recall reading something about the M having it's own unique unit so there must be something uprated about it...?

I'd be interested in this also, as my drivers side has a slightly 'milky' appearance. It's definitely on the inside, almost like it has had condensation previously which has left a residue - but strangely it's an even discolouration right across the lens. Passenger side is fine. Not sure it's relevant, but it's a facelift with factory HIDs. Closest topic I've seen to answering the question is this;
