mate for the sake of a few quid (maybe 40-60) i wouldnt even wash my own car
my time is far too valubale to do anything for myself that someone else can do
puts a few quid in someone elses pocket plus gives you the hours back to do more valuable things
hence why nowadays everyone has a cleaner and a gardener
just pay someone else to do it
That's a sad outlook. I enjoy washing my car, don't trust anyone else to do it, and I like gardening, the wife does the cleaning.

in total agreement I get satisfaction out of detailed my cars, making the garden look nice , etc.

each to their own if we were all the same the world would be full of cnuts where as its only 99% cnuts as we speak
i certainly wont do a damn thing that i can pay someone else to do and am fortunate enough to be more than comfortable financially, so if i can buy time by letting someone else do things i dont want to then i will

as for my "wife does the cleaning" you should be so proud that in 2023 your wife is your slave pal
with your 1950s attitude how are people supposed to make a living? cleaners, gardeners, car detailers etc play the game and help people who dont have as much as you do

I run a full time business so my wife does the cleaning etc, her choice. When my wife had a full time job I did the cleaning etc, my choice. What’s YOUR problem ‘matey’.

Don't knock it, but mint toothpaste does a reasonable job and smells good as well. Try it and you will be surprised.
Is that with fluoride and enamel whitener or without? .............

Its gotta be the Extra whitening with power clean ! :)
On a mildy serious note this does actually work as whitening toothpaste contains a very mild abrasive which helps clean off the plaque on your teeth and will do the same for the oxidation on the headlamp. Its not very efficient as the abrasives are so small and mild it will take a long ass time to polish your headlight with toothpaste. If you get really bored :)

Yowee he wont be making any friends on the forum!!

A bit of advise from my late mother "If you want to do it then just do it!"(May have stolen this from a Nike advert in the 90s). Basically even if it works out more expensive to DIY if you want to do the job, you can do the job and you will learn something from doing the job then "Just do it!". If its not something you want to do or you know you will royaly mess it up then pay someone to do it for you. Never stop learning!

DIY, very easy but be prepared to spend the time on it. Also be sure the problem is on the outside... Mine had condensation related staining on the inside. Loads of Youtube videos, ignore the toothpaste ones... Wet'n'dry sandpaper and finishing with polish.

The only thing I would add... Meguires PlastiX polish seems quite good if the problem is not too bad.

I had fantastic results with this product. I’ve tried a few in the past. It’s the final coating that did it for me. Used on my now sold SLK. Second photo is before.

Definitely looks worth a go

I used the Autoglym kit the other day. As I said initially it was only the upper section that looked hazy. I just used the finest paper by hand on a wet lens. Then used the polish with the suplied drill bit pad. Took less than half an hour and worked a treat. Only advice i would give is if you have the bonnet open as I did then cover the engine bay with something. I didnt see until after the first light what a mess was made with little specks of polish getting flung about. The drill bit had sent it flying all around. It started raining and I ended up having to clean the engine bay in the pissing rain. The headlights are fine though. Not sure how willing I would have been to use heavier grit on a drill bit. But my lights just didnt require that aggression. Definitely is a DIY job though.
