Headlight question

Sorry, my mate needs an answer ASAP on this one if possible.

He has a UK 2003 Z4 - but he is in Germany for a couple of years now and needs to change his headlights. He has sourced some 2008 model ones (pretty sure they wont be Xenon) - I assume these will fit and there is no change in design/fitment from the pre to post facelift cars?

Many thanks for any replies.

My understanding is that they are not the same for halogen and definitely not for xenon.

This is the connector on the pre facelift halogen (if your mate wants to compare):

Bumper and lug locations should be the same. It isn't a massive job for him to try... Mister Roger and myself have both done posts around removing the bumper / swapping the lights.

Hope that helps.

My understanding is that facelift headlights will NOT fit a pre and vice versa (well they will fit but will not work!).

And i think you will need coding + additional suspesion sensor to get xenons for the same style headlights.

Xenon definitely not. Halogen, I had read not from reliable sources. However, I'm sure I read somewhere that someone had replaced halogens with facelift and the only issue being the indicators - that they are split into two bulbs. Or something like that.
