headlight query

Ok, I am on the lookout for a new set of headlights. Can anyone tell me why an aftermarket halo / Angel eye projector type headlight will NOT work on a post face lift (xenon as standard) Zed?

I have been wanting to upgrade to halo's since I got the Zed 3 years ago, but can't find a suitable manufacturer.

i believe its due to Light Control Module and harness/plug. In addition, you don't have a levelling wheel in the cab. Given the low output of the halogens I would suggest you want to keep the Xenons and look at doing a cut & mod on your own headlights?

I would actually prefer to buy complete sealed units, i'm not one for DIY plus i have read from various forum members that once the headlight unit is opened, moisture seems to be an inherit problem. To add, there is a level adjustment wheel in the cab......so if its just a matter of adapting the electric connections, i might give this a go.

If you have a levelling wheel in the cab, then you wont have standard OEM Xenons. Only Halogens have the levelling wheel (next to the console dimming wheel) in the cab

Are you sure yours is Xenon?

Good question...... I just assumed they were xenon because its a 2006 face lift model.
I will nip down to my local BMW garage and ask the experts what type of headlights I have.
Many thanks for the info :)
