Headlight modification

So I bought my Z 8 years ago as a demo and it was perfectly specced except...no xenon headlights... :o

What can one do to achieve a whiter/bluer beam without having to change the whole headlight unit? Possibly just a bulb change perhaps? Has anyone tried different bulbs on non-xenon headlamps with good results?

Better bulbs will help a bit but there are lots of after market H.I.D kits available.

As above, easiest way to go is an aftermarket hid kit.

Here's a 5000K hid kit on mine. I had to remove it as it was causing flickering on start up when the auto light setting was on.

If anyone knows of a kit that stops this, please let me know as I'm struggling to see in the dark with my halogen bulbs

I can only suggest you got unlucky with a dodgy kit. Both Roundozo and I have the same 5000K kit on auto lights and have had no issues.

We used hids direct I believe but have had good reports from hids4U as well.

That's good to hear you don't have problems. Are you able to post up a link of the kit you bought? I need hid's back in my life

This is the one I've got. All fitted in the headlight and work well.

Is there a "how to" guide on the forum, cant seem to find one.
I have a set similar to these sat in the garage, but I am a bit nervous in taking this job on.
I do a lot of night driving and it would really help if I could see where I am going :D
