Headlight lens replacement

Does anyone ever try this product? Any recommend?

Already used the lens restore kit but still have many scratch on the lens. Buying the new headlight is too expensive.

Found the lens replacement on internet cost around 110-130 USD but not sure will it be good or bad idea to buy it.

Plus, they look like just the lens part, so you'd have to carefully disassemble your own headlights before somehow fitting and sealing these.

I’d expect these to be fiddly to install. I’d recommend a good set of 2nd hand complete units (but check the lighting control module threads first).

However, you should be able to recover badly scratched lenses with a good set of sand paper (320 upwards) and a heavy cutting compound plus rotary polisher with a foam cutting pad.

A cordless drill can be used if you haven’t got a small polisher.

Thanks I think that critical part is reseal the lens.

The factory lenses have a lip all around the perimeter that is bonded into a channel around the body of the headlight unit; this is what makes them watertight. The only way to remove the lens is to cut through its lip entirely, which means resealing it is always hit and miss and that's why so many opened headlights mist up afterwards.

Someone on here years ago sacrificed two pairs of headlights to make one good pair (keeping the lens lip intact from one pair and the channel intact from the other pair) and that seems to be the only way to get a proper result on something like this.

I hand wet sanded with 600, then 1000, then 1500, then 2000 grit. Spent a couple of hours on each one. Then hit it with the polish that came in the kit (With a drill attachment} Look like new. then sealed them with a spray sealant to protect from UV.

Its a case of time and patience - I did 1000, 1200, 1500 then 2000, and then polished with my Rupes DA. I then used a sealer that came with a cheap Turtlewax kit







and I added dual LED halos while the lights were out and in pieces
