Headlight issue found

after having moisture appear in my headlight, then it went sick and the indicator staying on I decided to pull it and investigate.

Turns out the connector on the light is corroded, the connector on the loom is corroded and I accidentally damaged the wiring on the small connector getting the light out.

Does anyone know if I can buy these connectors or should I try and get some from a breaker and solder them into place? Anyone know good breakers?

What connector are you after? The “loom” side or the headlight connector? Or both?

Best would be to get both, i pulled the other light and it all looks ok which is a bonus.

I don’t know if the connector on the unit can be replaced but the LCM connectors looks pretty dead

I think the indicator light coming on permanently is something which kicks in when there is a bulb failure. That's been the case in my experience anyway. Hope you get things fixed.

Get some deOxit on that lamp connector. Leave for a few hours then blast it with contact cleaner and an old toothbrush. See if it gets rid of that corrosion.
For the loom connector, even though the wire is a bit frayed it looks like it’s still connected ok. Get some heatshrink around the wire and connector to strengthen that frayed bit and re-test in the headlamp after you deal with the corrosion.

That corrosion damage looks like its been caused by water kicking up at the back of the headlamp unit and not moisture from inside, unless it was completely flooded inside?
Are all the plastic bits in place around your wheel arch liner and under the front bumper etc?

New light unit ordered, sourced the end of a lighting loom from a 7 series on eBay for a few quid so that is the connectors sorted out.

Hopefully all will be well when I get it all back together
