Headlight indicator lamps led flash orange

Hi all.

I'm in the process of changing my hockey sticks to clear! Due to my donor lights being beyond use the orange domes inside the indicator unit were smashed!

My existing lights don't seem to have any domes fitted due to the orange stick!

Does anyone know where I can get some orange with silver/chrome look or led lamps!

These seem to have offset pins but I've been searching eBay and only come up with a USA seller! But I want to get these fitted on Monday!

I don't want the amber lamp showing on my gleaming clears :)

Thanks Terry

I had the same issue, in the end I managed to source a spare set of orange domes. If I remember correctly, the orange LEDs are virtually none existant, so your other option would be to use some high temperature orange paint on the bulbs, a few members seem to have gone down this route when doing the conversion.

Hope its all going well!

Andrew.

The clear and amber hockeys all have clear bulbs with a glass amber dome like mine did, so all i did was wrap the domes in one way mirror tint foil thus having no visible amber bulbs through the clear hockeys like you can see on the facelift lights.
Message me if you need more help mate

I wrapped my orange domes in mirror film too, worked a treat!

Thanks for the info guys....I need 2 domes :headbang:

Will have to be amber lamps for now until some LED's come along!
Not sure how your domes were missing, wot colour are the bulbs?

Clear bulbs! But not totally stripped lights yet! They just appear not to have them..

I may well have some of those domes in my garage from when I did my clear headlamp project. It's a long shot but i'll have a look in the morning for you.

I did what johnny did to stop them shining orange through the clear hockey stick. So much better than a standard facelift headlamp.

Nine one thanks Ben g :)

One down, one to go.....

Taken about an hour to cut and replace the lens & re-glue!

Does anyone know if the indicators are looped via the canbus light failed system? :idunno:

I tried those first LEDs in mine. They split the bayonet connector as they are too wide at the top. You will need to do a bit of fettling to fit them (oh, and they didn't last long). They were canbus though, which is a plus. I ended up getting some standard amber bulbs instead.

Edit: second looks too wide at the top also.

Oh ok! The second set are 11mm wide the indicator orifice is 12mm so they will fit, but my only concern is they state yellow not amber/orange :(

Cut between the lens and black backing.... also used only 2 (one for each light) diamond cutting discs & a draper multi-tool!
These are not my photos they are from the guide linked below

Spot on, thanks for the info and links

Its actually a pretty easy process to be honest you just need the right tools (as for any job)

Takes about an hour to do each headlight + a little extra if your doing AE....

Main issue is sourcing the clear sticks but I was lucky & got two damaged headlights within a couple of weeks (good old eBay)

This was supposed to be my next winters project but I couldn't wait, the whole process has cost just under £180 ;)
