Headlight help please W Mids

Due to my hamfistedness (is that a word) my O/S headlight is full of water and the motor that moves the bulb up and down has packed up :(
I am stuck working in the W Mids at the moment and do not have access to a garage or tools, therefore if there is anyone on the board in the W Mids area that could remove my headlight dry it out and fit the new motor I have sourced I would happily pay you well for your time. I have contacted a few garages locally and all they want to do is flog me a new headlamp :x

Cheers,
Tom

Or if anyone knows a good garage that would effect the same repair without trying to sell me a new headlamp I would be pleased to get their number.

Adj. 1. ham-fisted - lacking physical movement skills, especially with the hands; "a bumbling mechanic"

Yes it's a word but what did you do?

Are you sure it is the motor?
The electrical connectors are at the very bottom of the headlights, and if there is water present the pins rust, causing problems like you describe.... Check these first, or you could still have the problem after changing the motor.

Here is a view from inside a headlamp showing water staining to L/H connector, which is for the motor

It could well be the connections to be honest but I saw the motor on ebay for £15 so thought I would grab it just to make sure :D
