headlight gods - advice needed

i have scuffed a headlight quite badly but it still works (scuffed too deep to be polished or wet sanded out :( ), ive managed to find a decent priced one but its a xenon where as mine is a halogen, can i just swap the inners and have a working perfect halogen?
 
Yes - It's been done the other way around, but it's a tedious and fairly skilled task to do it.

You'll have to dismantle the reflector assembly to swap them and also fit your headlight internal loom into the modded light unit.
 
hmm tedious i could live with but skilled im not sure, i think for the money im better off waiting for a straight halogen swap then, im just impatient and having a not perfect z is bugging me. cheers :thumbsup:

£100 quid for the unit plus lots of tinkering and no guarantee it will go right vs live with the damage for now & keep stalking ebay vs £700 odd for a brand new pair from bmw, :headbang:
