Headlight colour for black Z4

Out of interest, what do you think of having a different colour interior headlight colour to the normal black or silver/chrome? The car is black, and will have black kidneys on an M front bumper, so all black apart from lights.

I was thinking a mid/dark grey (glossy) or matt white.

Go...

Something different is always good  But fluorescent green might be taking it a step too far

I'm thinking of what colour tint on top of the orange will be achievable, hence this would be used as headlight colour...

Black, Mid/Dark Grey, White (maybe),

Quite like the idea of white headlights with black Z4M front...

Black background sounds interesting but might be a bit too much black.
Best bet would be to spend some time in photoshop.

White might look a bit weird. Like Michael Jackson pulling up his trousers to reveal his socks.

I think a dark grey would look really nice

No photoshop skills, but think white would either work or not, no real middle ground.

I'm not sure how different it would look to silver

Borrowed pic, would be slightly brighter than this...

So my plan is to have this front, with no plate 8)

These almost look white... right?

Probably just the sunlight IMO, but looks good nonetheless

Yeah, its the shine, just talking myself into buying some white paint... matt or gloss? Going to be a long weekend!

Stood in Halfrauds paint aisle for longer then I dare admit, and in the end bought a white plastic primer and an aluminium colour enamel high temp spray. This will let me primer the inners white, see if I like it, and then try them aluminium (silver/grey). If I like the white, I will use a matt white enamel spray over the primer. I dont want them to jump out on the black car, so not sure what the white will look like tbh.

Also bought the cutting discs for the dremel, some dust sheets and other bits, all ready for surgery tomorrow.

Oh, the new ballast came via FedEx today too.

Also, while the car is off the road, I can use my GSX R600 while the weather is ok. Nice to take it out again, so different to a car, but literally deafening with the two brothers exhaust! :o :o

Interesting idea. I took my X5 headlights that were matt black, removed the amber corners and plasticote sprayed the inners matt silver. Looked really good over standard and 'lifted' the car.

Plasticote really stood up to the UV well and because they were not outlandish they really worked.

I reckon on certain cars if you body coloured the inners it could look really class, but I'd want a spare set ready to swap back in at sale time...

I'd like my inners to be black - I like the stealth look. :driving:

Need to find someone with facelift black xenons who wants to swop for silver xenons.

I've done body coloured on a silver TT and the lack of contrast bugged me enough to open them again and do them matte black, which looked much better.

I think the same is true for this Z4. All black front would be too bland maybe, I think it needs that contrast.

I'll try a little of everything, but the colour options are sort of decided by the colours that can be achieved in tinting the orange hockey sticks. I'm not worried about it not being OEM. This is my 2nd Z4 and I intend to keep it long enough to not be bothered about selling it on.
