I'm planning on getting clear front turn indicators, and I'm going back and forth on if i should paint the inside silver or not while I'm there.

I have a maldives 2.5. I'm getting some black grills this week as well. I have not installed them yet. That may help me decide.

Voted Silver with clear but thats because i have a Silver car if i had a black car would be Black with clear and black grills.

With your car if you are going for black grills i would go with black with clear lights.

Silver with clear for me, having done it on my Sterling Grey.

If you're asking for what I woudl do on yours then I'd fit the grilles and see what you think will look right.

BTW the inners are a fairly shiny, almost mirror finish, not a flat silver, so factor that in if you decide to respray them

Silver with clear for me too, but again I've got a silver car.

If you're going for black grilles then I think it has to be black with clear to match in with your theme.

Silver with amber, on my silver car.

Colours complement the appearance for me, desaturated black and white looks bland as anything imho :D

Now if I had a car with a colour in the paint, then I'd probably prefer clear, but with a silver car, then colour is good :)

Silver with clear, then black with clear as a second choice. If you're thinking of spraying your current black lights though, I'd just keep them black.
When I changed from ambers to clear (with silver) it really freshened up the look and makes the car look upto modern standards.

Mr Whippy is just cheap :poke:

I would want black houisings with clear lenses for my Z4M. They just make the car look a lot more aggressive.

:P

It is that age old facelift technique though. I got the facelift lights for my old Ford Sierra XR4x4, and it made the car look so much more modern and up to date, with clear lenses up front and smoked rear lights.

In reality, had BMW not employed this cheap 'facelift' technique, and left them orange, then no one would think it made the car look more modern.

My POV, either they purposely made them orange so when they facelifted and made them clear they looked more modern and people upgraded. OR, Bangle made them orange as a design feature (like the 2002 Ti esque rear lights which they changed for 'modern' looking LED rears), and by upgrading you are actually just buying stuff aimed at people from a marketing POV, not a design purity POV :P

Tis a tough one, I'd happily upgrade (and am doing) to the purer design (for flame surfacing) 107's, but to me the lights/facelift changes were not design driven, they were marketing driven... as said, I prefer the colour from a design POV, one of the main reasons I got the Z4. Timeless looks, rather than fashion following with the facelift bits :)

(not to say it's wrong to do it, but thats my POV and why I'm leaving well alone!)
