Here are some photos that I took last night. In the first two photos you can see the projector unit removed from the light. To do this all you need to do is disconnect the cable connection, and then undo the 4x nuts. In the photos I have placed the nuts back onto the screws so that they don't go missing. The projector will lift out, and then you can gain access to the lens for cleaning. I think you'll struggle to separate the glass lens from the projector unit, however with the projector removed, you can easily access the glass to clean it.

This is exactly what I was looking for. No need to remove the projector glass itself. What you have in hand is just enough to clean the glass. Thank you so much!

The only advise I would give you is make sure you mark how tightly each nut is done up, e.g. where abouts on the screw it is sitting prior to removal. I'm not sure exactly how important it is, but it could influence the positioning of the projector. Other that that, it's a very simple job once you have the headlight out of the car.

This is exactly i did in Clio 2 with xenons. Light output was increased with cleaning.

Fantastic post Andrew. I have a couple of watermarks inside my NS headlight that irritate the hell out of me. I'll use your method this summer to strip the light and clean the marks.

As I was searching around yes it is possible. But you have to remove the silver projector housing from the back as well. Which means if you look at the photos a lot of delicate work. It is easier if you just the the front lens glass (plastic) off.

Red round things? They look like rubber dampers. Are they fixed or they slide up and down? I believe tightening down the nuts should be done gently otherwise the plastic holder can snap.

I'm not quite sure now, it was a couple of years since i removed it! as long as you take care there shouldn't be a problem.

I think you could install the angel eyes through the hole left when the projector is removed. it might be quite fiddly, but you will have good visibility through the front of the headlight to see what you're doing.
