Headlamp washers- removal

I have peeling lacquer around the bumper washer jets- what's the best way of getting these out of the way to allow repair?

Bumper off?

Try getting someone to activate the washers then grab the jet gently with a grip when it pops up, its only powered by water pressure and spring loaded return. You will see the the washer cover has two u shaped retainers that unclip from the the diamond shaped retaining clip. Be careful as they are easy to damage the retainers and remember that they are handed left/right so need to go back on the same side. Replacement is a reverse process.

Bumper off isn't a huge process 10-15 mins once you know where the clips and screws are, there are lots of threads on here if you go down that road.

I assume they activate every 4-5 washes of the screen with lights on like other BMW's?
