Headlamp washer problem

Hi I was driving my Z4 3.0 coupe today and noticed the headlamp washers were not working. When I got back home I got some one to work the washers and I could here the motor working but the headlamp washers were not extending out of the bumper. The fluid level was low so im not sure if the headlamp washers automatically stop working to conserve fluid.
Any advice with reference to fixing this problem would be much appreciated.

Thanks James

There's been a few washer topics recently, this sounds like either low fluid or they could be frozen, see what like they are after filling up the reservoir.

I have just put a liter of washer fluid in the bottle and they still do not work the windscreen ones are working fine. The temp has been +5 degrees all day and it had vertually neet washer fluid in so Im 99% confident the fluid has not frozen. The only thing I have done is run the fluid level down to empty, Both jets do not work! so something has all of a sudden gone wrong.
Will I damage a motor etc if I keep trying them to try and flush through any debris?
What would you suggest to fix this problem?
I have read on previous posts that peoples resevoirs are leaking whats the cause of this in relation to the headlamp washers?
Thanks James

Have you got the headlights on when testing them? They only work with lights on and on about every 5 cycle of the system.

Failing thet thy are either 1) frozen 2) pipes empty which take a long time to fill or 3) othe pump is not working (they have their own pump) Even if blocked the nozzles woudl rise under pressure

Thanks guys, I will disconect my screen pump tomorrow incase it's just air in the pipes, hopefully it's this, where will I find the screen pump if I'm looking down onto the resevoir standing against the right wing.
How will I know if the other pump is broken?
And yes the lights are on when I try, I find if you turn the engine of the back on with the lights on the headlamp washers will be ready 1st time.
Thanks again hopefully I will be smiling again tomorrow!
This is my 3rd day driving the car since I brought last month.

All fixed it was an air block thank god! Thanks again!
I don't suppose anyone could reccomend a company in Kent that could die the scratches on the drivers blue leather side boulster of my seat?
Thanks James
