headlamp bulb upgrades?

Has anybody upgraded their headlamp bulbs atall please? On a previous car a vauxhall convertible, I fitted led headlamp bulbs and the difference was amazing with a white light instead of a dimmer yellow beam.
I know on some vehicles ,the change to some bulbs can result in flickering headlamps and strange things happening on the dashboard so recommendations prefered or stay as standard maybe?

I changed mine for Osram LEDriving which are better than original halogens, but strictly not legal.

Have you had any issues with flickering lights etc or was it just a straight forward change over please?

I coded out the self test with NCS Expert so that there is no flickering. The awkward bit is getting a suitable retaining ring to fit the bulb to the housing.

No, but it can be a bit fiddly to set up on a laptop.

That looks a useful bit of kit, Im going to order it today as its better to be armed ready and I do like a fiddle with this sort of stuff!
Have you found it a useful kit to use once overcoming the setting up?

Yes, I believe it's what BMW used at the production factory to set the car up. You need to be careful using it.

I use carly for coding ....very easy to use and you can't mess anything up, I used it to switch off side light monitoring to fit led side lights .
I creates a backup before any codes are changed so you can revert to standard settings . I spent hours trying to get NCS to work and gave in eventually

Not to change the topic too much, but before swapping bulbs etc, might be worth looking at the state of your projectors, my halogens on one side were noticeably worse than the other and couldn't really explain why so took the projectors out to look at them. the reflective backing was corroded, swapped projectors and a reasonable improvement.
