Had a few cars over the years but never seen this before. I discovered my drivers side headlight was held in place by cable ties not long after purchasing car. Been on my list of jobs to fix. Bought the BMW repair kit (cheapish on e-bay) and removed headlight yesterday expecting to have some head scratching trying to figure out where to cut and then fit new brackets. But no. Pleasently surprised to see that BMW had anticipated that brackets would get broken by even the softest of car park dings and had moulded in new screw holes for the replacement brackets. New brackets perfectly designed to fit around remnants of old ones and 2 torx screws hold them in place. Top job.
