Head unit volume knob upgrades

So probably like many others out there my head unit volume and navi knobs are looking old and out out date so decided to change them. Now I know lots out there use the ones from the X3 as a straight swap but they are £29 from bmw and about £30 each on eBay.

So my challenge was to find a cheaper alternative. I chose the ones from an E90 which as also a straight swap .... but they are smaller in diameter, part number for these is 65129119442 which you can get for £15 each on eBay. So these arrived and I needed to fill the circular gap to make they look as factory as I could. The solution was a 22mm washer found on eBay for £2.69 for 5 link below:

I then superglued them to the bottom of the knob and they fit perfectly, so for £32.69 you have a change for half the price of the X3 option and they feel great to use.

They’ve gone up 300% in 3 years?!!

I paid £9.59 from the dealer 3 years ago (which I was annoyed at!)
