Head unit plays mp3s?

Before I burn loads of CDs and DVDs I thought I'd post on here.

Can the head unit of a 3.0i BMW Z4 with Carver audio and 6cd stack play mp3s? I've heard only the main dash unit plays mp3 but is that only mp3s on a cd or will it also read dvds?!

This has been covered on previous threads, it has to do with the colour of the fascia around the stereo, if I remeber right, gray fascia will not, black fascia will. Then only on the single player.

And no it will not play DVD's.

ok, thanks - I did do a few various searches with mp3 and CD and DVD etc but it always returned 0 results. No idea why, I know something isn't working but couldn't figure out what.

NP, I did a search too and found nothing, but I am sure it was covered, perhaps its my age

It's the same thing when I search for AUX. 0 results. Maybe to few letters in the search term?

Yes I think it is too few letters. I had the same trouble with CSL

Yes you could be right, I have just put in mp3 no results? but have found it mentioned in threads??
