Hazards Occasionally Going Off

Hi all,

Hoping to get some advice, got an issue that cropped up about a week ago. Every now and then the hazards will start going off after locking and walking away. No alarm or anything just the hazards.

I did some googling and some suggestions pointed to the bonnet alarm switch being faulty. I've given it a couple of presses and made sure the bonnet was closed properly but it's happened again today.. I guess the next step is to disconnect it, but was wondering if this has cropped up for anyone else?

Cheers,

Sounds like alarm related, usually the bonnet switch, no alarm siren/horn may well indicate its been coded out or disconnected. Disconnect the switch and see if it happens again then you will know its the switch.

On my E36 I had this once or twice and then came back from holiday to find it had flattened the battery as it'd gone mad while I was away. That was the actual hazard switch.

Being a convertible I'd start with the switch as the membrane switches are prone to getting muck in being outdoors. They can be dismantled and cleaned easily.
