Haynes Breakfast Meeting

Following Januarys totally overwhelming turnout and the gates being closed with cars being turned away, Haynes have sent the following email outlining their future plans

Hi Mike,
Thank you for your patience. I am pleased to inform you that we have a clear plan going forward for improving the Haynes Breakfast Club offering.

This weekend’s February Haynes Breakfast Club will remain the same, however from 1 March 2020 we will split the club to create two separate meets by introducing an extra Haynes Breakfast Club for the second Sunday of each month.

• The 1st Sunday of the month: Future Classics (1980’s onwards)
• The 2nd Sunday of the month: Vintage and Classic Cars (Pre 1980’s)
• The 3rd Sunday of the month: Remains as Bikers ride-in
We hope that by dividing our Haynes Breakfast Club into post and pre 1980’s we can better accommodate all of our car club visitors, ensuring everyone can get a space in the carpark and enjoy a full breakfast.
We will also be introducing a Code of Conduct and have engaged with the local police to maintain road safety as well as being part of the event by displaying some of their older vehicles.

Please find attached a flyer with more information and a website link to our news page here (https://www.haynesmotormuseum.com/news/haynes-breakfast-club-big-changes ) outlining the upcoming changes.

I hope that you feel these changes will improve the event for you and we hope we can welcome you back again here soon.

Please do let us know your thoughts.

Kind regards,

Katie Stanley

I made it to the last one, but it was so busy and muddy if you’d ended up in the field.

That said, I’d be there this weekend if the forecast looked better.

It’s shame that they’re splitting the day though. That means we will be sat along all the modified minis, fiestas and focuses. The interesting stuff there for me happened to be pre 80s, excluding of course my MC  , my mate’s rx7 (500bhp Wankel!) and my friend’s e34 M5 who I drove down with.

It’s a good excuse to drive out together, and grab a coffee and bacon roll off anything!

I must get to one of these this year - it ought to be a good run down early on a Sunday, but I'll wait until I can set off in daylight!

It is a bit of a shame to split the dates as it is good to have a wide variety of cars from different periods, but if it avoids chaos at the venue it makes sense for them to do it.

The 1980 date isn't so good for Fast Ford owners either, but at least the ones I used to own are post 1980 so I should see some of those.

Yes, it’s definitely worth a visit and great support and publicity for the museum (which is a must see if you haven’t already). It was crazy at only 9.30am, seeing what looked like a corvette club being turned away, and a few Porsche GT2/3 variations also so guess the split will hell a little.

But yes, more daylight and drier roads will be more welcoming. The car wash came on the way home, ours were filthy by the time we got to Haynes; it was supposed to have been dry and we caught some random downpour on the way down and turned up with them filthy, shame !

Definitely, MPSS tyres on the M don't seem to like the cold and damp much.

Great photos by the way, and at least all of those cars will be able to go on the same date.

You just need to get them warm Mr Tidy. If your still in one peace after that they work great, even in the damp.

I keep mine nice and warm by the way.....

In the garage?

Garage? What garage? We're rufty tufty where I come from!

Garages are for garage queens.

But I wish I had one.

If you pay to go into the museum, keep your ticket, you can use it over and over for 1 year excluding back holidays.

Personally, i am loving the split of years, i always have been a fan and owner of 60's and 70's cars.

There is nothing worse that being parked next to a load of Mondeos and Focus's revving the nuts off their cars all morning.

Its turned into a real 'Sainsburys car Park and McDonalds' crew meet. innit Bruv....

and...i can go to both moderns one week, classics another...win win, well done Haynes
