having trouble getting the right iso lead

Hi all i'm currently trying to fit a rather nice alpine headunit (IVA-D106R) to my dads Z4MC but i can't get a hold of the right ISo lead for it. The car is an 07 plate and has the later spec quadlock connector (4 round holes as spaces for a MOST/fibre optic connector albeit redunandant as it doesn't use it) i ordered one through caraudiodirect.co.uk but the one that turned up is so far as i can tell for the prefacelift z4's.

anyone know where i can get the correct connector? and also where i can get an adaptor for the steering wheel controls?

anyone already been through all this??

thanks
Lewis

there are no aftermarket connectors for the steeringwheel controls (at least, that's the consensus on here I believe... and I've never found anything to contradict that).

Not sure on the iso cable i'm afriad.
"Un1eash" has a non-oem headunit and may be able to help?

The steering wheel controls, control the BMW head unit via the cars 'K' bus or 'I' bus. Can't remember which. Those busses are used by the car to communicate with various control units and modules located around the car.

Normally I would say that you cannot have an aftermarket head unit with the steering wheel controls, but I seem to remember seeing something on the net that will allow this to happen.

If I find the link, I will post it here, but it is not a widely known unit.

thanks for that i've been looking and there is a can line version but again thats no good to me as the z4 uses the older system

still no joy on the iso lead front either.. thinking i'll just get the wiring diagram off of tis and hardwire it but i'd rather not go that route if i can help it

Here is a site that has some things if you want to go another route.

http://www.advancedice.com.au/catcompatability.php?cat=21

I will be flying back home tomorrow, and will have my TIS available. Let me know if you need any diagrams.
