Having a "not the best" day

Funny noise in the back of the land rover, hurried down to the dealers as I have 600kms left on warranty. As I thought , rear diff (or something really close to it) is failing causing noise, hum , whine ... /tech got in and went for a drive with me, after a few hundred yards he said " rear diff" , it's now been booked in and under warranty , March 5th.... good so far eh!

Picked up the wifey in the 911 coz I didn't want to aggravate the Landy before it goes in for the diff and some git in a 1 ton ford pickup changed lanes into the side of my car. There goes the clean Carfax report.....
Damage isn't bad at all, the wheel on the truck hit almost directly onto the left rear wheel on the car, unfortunately it's a lot bigger than mine... small dent , scratched scuffed paint around the wheel arch, and maybe a polish job on the rim, that's all...could have been a hell of a lot worse.

Horrible thing to happen in the 911, but at least you're OK, and it's metal, it will fix.
And something failing within the warranty is a good thing, like you say.
If ford truck muppet had hit your landy and then the diff failed, they could have said it was caused by the accident and not paid up.

Glad you are OK, which is the main thing

Bit of karma one bit of good luck and one bit of bad, hopefully both will be sorted - it's just the time it takes which is the pain

Sorry to hear about your troubles man, but glad your ok. Tomorrows another day and sounds like the car troubles will get sorted.

Physically fine, but the mental bit, that might need some work....

I have to run around and deal with autobody shops and rental cars and a depreciation factor on the car caused by having a damage claim against it while the other guy has nothing to do but pay a few extra $$ for his insurance .. AAArgh!

Take a deep breath and get over it..... there, feels better now.

Sorry about that old chap

Got two estimates, they haven't arrived yet by email but I asked and the second estimator said "over the $2000 Limit", under that and no police report required. Now I have to wait for them and take them to a Police station and fill out paperwork... F**ksheep!

Oh well, just a minor inconvenience compared to getting hurt. We were doing about 50kmh in an 80 zone , slowing down for a light, could have been a lot worse ... we were on the TransCanada highway, a mile up the road the average speed is 120kmh.
