Ok then guys you will be glad to know. The guy i was talking to about the TS1 S/C. And hes says that they are all really impressed with VT1 S/C system its performed really well. And for power for money spent its great. He even said it would be the kit he would go for. Witch i found interesting..... Also to expect 330-340 BHP he did not give TQ figures. But after i have posted this i will be writing another email.

I think you should talk to guys who have the VF kit on the m54. Ask them if they think its worth the 25% lower price compared to a TS1 sc (or the 50% lower price compared to ts2) in terms of how power is delivered etc.

The VF uses the same supercharger, so the output and powerdelivery is about the same, and plenty of those kits are sold so a lot of people can comment on that. The ecu tuning from ess might be more reliable (or not), but in terms of power delivery and boost it will be the same. Maybe ESS uses a different pulley, but I dont think it will be radically different.

A twinscrew gives a completely different powerdelivery than a centrifugal, so how you experience the car in daily life will also be different. On the track the difference is very limited (you're almost all the time above 5krpm on the track..), but a twinscrew pulls like crazy between 2.5k and 4k rpm where a cetrifugal still does very little.
It's like a turbo, but without any lag.

But you're a handy guy, ever thought of going turbo? Making your own manifold, buy a suitable turbo (maybe 2nd hand), buy injectors and find a tuner that can tune?
(maybe in combination with megasquirt if you can find someone who has done megasquirt with dual vanos on bmw?)
That's considerably more work obviously; a centrifugal kit without cooling is installed in 4 hrs or so...

Dammit, I'm busy for most of July. I'd love to see both of your cars.

your welcome anytime to come and have a butchers..

Well once I am back off holiday. And once my car is all back together and painted. We should sort a little meet as I love talking cars. And want to see both of yours  mine isn't an M and I haven't spent loads on mods. But I have done quite a bit and done most myself and love talking about it!!

I might even try and get a track day sorted in August September.

I know I would love a twin screw with all that low down grunt!! But the ESS and the VF kits are very affordable.

As for the DIY turbo route. It's still an option and yes It could be possible. And I was going to go a crazy route of having them in the boot!! But these things always take longer and cost more!! I really fancy the buy it fit it and use it route for a change!!

Let's try to set something up with MM for later in the year. July is more or less a write off for me but if we can work around that we should try to find a day. My heart is already there and I have the money, it's just my brain that needs a good kicking :D

Let's do it. It would have to be a weekend for me if we meet in August. Beyond that I hope there'll be a couple of weeks in September when I have more free time during the week

Shall we aim for a track day at Abingdon. Towards the beginning of September? I dont fancy standing out on an old air field in the wind and rain. September should be ok.

Hey Mat I'd be up for doing that track in September, know GaryT will probably be up for it too.!!

Sounds good. The weather is usually still ok in Sept and hopefully I'll be able to get leave.

Ok i will start sorting a track day when i am back off holiday.

Mac the VF is very similar to the ESS good to hear your happy with it.

If you do, I'll be down with my camera gear! Would be rude not to have these cars all in one place and no pictures!
