Just noticed ESS are doing a vortech based S/C for the z4 now. I have emaild asking lots of questions....... I hope there replies are not what i want to hear... Otherwise my credit card will be taking a hammering!!!

they finaly released it ?? the announced it last year around june i thought, on their facebookpage.

if the power gain is good enough i need to get saving ASAP.

oh wait it's finaly here : http://www.esstuning.com/products/ESS-M52T%C3%9C%7B47%7DM54-VT1-Supercharger-System.html

is that a power increase from 193 hp to 290 ?? i need money !! any body interested in some organs ??

Machine Monkey, I'd be very interested to hear what they say to you regarding the S/C, I've just had a poke around their website and it all looks worryingly tempting!!!

You need to add import taxes onto that dollar price though.

Well worth it. Whats the predicted power gains? 100bhp?

Yes I saw that kit too.
This kit is probably here to compete with the VF kit (which is obviously much cheaper than a TS kit, so ESS was missing out on some potential customers)

Do you think this is based on the same hardware as their new n52 set that is in development?

They had a similar kit 10 years ago (similar as in centrifugal, but not with the vortech v3; looks more like an asa/infinitas/g-power alteration):

You have my every sympathy MM - I'm fighting hard against the urge to buy the ESS VT2 for my ///M. Let me know if you succumb and we can ask them for a discount if we both buy together.

...not that I'm trying to weaken your resolve :D

40-50% increase of power

I was looking for an exact figure.

For a 3.0 i think it wil minimum be around 300-310 prob. More. Send ESS an email and you'l know for sure.

@mr essex, bhp stil can't make up for driving skills 8) (At least not around a track)

TS all the way for this engine imo!

i love the VT setup on the s54 and it works so well with the cars character as it doesn't actually feel F.I, it just feels like a big engine swap.

Ok then guys you will be glad to know. The guy i was talking to about the TS1 S/C. And hes says that they are all really impressed with VT1 S/C system its performed really well. And for power for money spent its great. He even said it would be the kit he would go for. Witch i found interesting..... Also to expect 330-340 BHP he did not give TQ figures. But after i have posted this i will be writing another email.

Byron i agree the TS1 is a stonking bit of kit and probably better suited to a m54 but its price. My zed isn't worth any more than a TS2 kit and that is the one you really would want!!

I can ask if there is any discount if we order multiple kits.

i guess it would still be faster than a stock z4m.
But those Ts its are what id NEED for this engine and much more suited to it imo.... But price is everything for sure and this at least gets your foot in the FI door, once you have the hardware u can intercool and start adding boost, where the big centri will make the car feel insane!!

I would like something comparable to the z4M as its a quick car. I am not chasing figures or numbers.
I did a day at your local course on the 1st of may Byron. And with my chassis mods and the LSD I couldn't really get the car to brake traction. Not without being silly anyway. So my thinking is it needs more power as the car can clearly handle it!! Before the mods it used to really want to slide. And yes everything was turned off there is just so much mechanical grip its great :)

I am not sure what old F1 driver said it but.

If you can leave 2 black lines from the exit of one corner. To the braking zone of the next. Then you have enough power!!

If money was no object i would be making all my own stuff. And i would be driving something else.

I would just like to say i am no driving god and maybe it wouldn't slide because i am a wimp!!

But i have my argument for a S/C the car needs it!!!

when you back at curb ? ill book onto a day your their and we'll go GT3 hunting!!
did you see me on the leaderboard? i need my top spot back... it took me a solid day of trying slowly edging closer to the limit to get that time, i haven't tried to beat it since i felt the tyres were the limiting factor but I'm ready to try and take the top spot back

what time did you manage their?

I am booked in for the 10th July.
It was just a fun day a club member who puts together days up there. No timing done just having a laugh. I love the track easy to learn hard to master. We do the long figure of 8 lap i will time myself next time. Might even do the sprint course and see......

I have grip i just want more power
