Just watched this on YouTube. moto man, 2025 BMW Z4 Manual: get off you a$$ and buy one. I think you will like it. Sorry but I watch it on TV so don’t have the web name.

Not if it's green!
The B58 is available in the Supra with a manual gearbox (and I think in the 2 series) which come in other colours. I would go for those over the shite green any day. :D

Sorry but I really don't like the look of the G29, either. It's all a bit 'Merc SL' copy IMO.

And also, if I were to spend nearly £70k on a car, it would be a Lotus Emira, or an RS6 avant.

Well, I don’t normally disagree with you Pondrew on most things but this time if I had the money......gimmi, gimmi gimmi, gimmi, gimmi, gimmi. :D

Personally I think the G29 design is beautiful apart from the weird inset rear reflectors and the mismatched fonts of the rear badges. That really triggers my OCD :-) The car seems to attract so many positive comments, mainly from the ladies. In particular those in the 25-35 age range. Clearly the car not the aged male drivers :-) That green is a bold statement, and on roadsters bold statements are good. It's not family transport, just a toy, so go with whatever floats your boat.

When it came out, I didn't like the G29, I confess I did look down my long E89 nose at it! Now that I have a G29, I have become accustomed to (actually liking) the styling, the cabin (especially the technology) is a big improvement on its predecessor. But there are things that aren't so good, the roof (still not keen on a fabric roof) when up restricts so much visibility, pulling out of a junction can sometimes be a nightmare, after owning the car for around 5/6 months still waiting for it to do a remote software update! The driving options are more complicated, from choosing Adaptive / Eco / Comfort / sport / sport+ / sport individual, then switching off the stop/start tech. If not use to the safety equipment, it can severely catch you out, the first day of ownership I thought the car was either possessed or I'd hit a massive pothole when it took control of the steering wheel, it also slammed the brakes on for no reason. I do love the HUD, reverse parking aid and camera, very handy as the car reverses itself out of the garage and down the length of a narrow drive to the front of the house, and the hold brake function is also good. Like the E89 you have to get one with as many whistles and bells as possible, I drove one at the beginning of my search that didn't have many extras and was a little disappointed.

Bimmercode will let you either turn off stop/start completely or have the car remember the last setting as I have done.
Not sure what you mean about pulling out of junctions being a nightmare with the roof up, never noticed any difficulties personally.

I would imagine it could be quite like a van where pulling out of a junction that is not 90 degrees means you have a slight blindspot as there are no rear windows. You just have to position yourself differently at the junction.

The E89 has two side windows, and just allows that little more visibility... the G29 just has fabric there. As Nictrix said, I caught out a couple of weeks ago, maybe I needed to position the car better

I had the same issue on one particular junction when I first had the car, but I have adjusted to it now by not going quite so close to the giveway line.

It can be difficult on junctions. Perpendicular ones are fine but if you come up to one at an angle, say 30 degrees back on you, then it is a bit awkward with the top up. But hey ho, who has the top up....? :D
