I did this many years ago in my Escort Ghia, they let me leave my watch with them while I went home to get my wallet, I think the watch was worth more than the car.

Here in the US, we can't get fuel unless we prepay with cash or use a credit card before the pumps will dispense....So no sign of this happening.

I found this out last week when I was in LA. After being stood at the pump for 10 minutes trying to work out how to get the bloody fuel in the car! Someone had to come and tell us :lol:

No... but I snapped the key in the fuel cap lock once and had to push the car off the pump and walk home to get the spare

I learned this last year in New England, Tpping my foot impatiently waiting for the pump to start. A nice lad came out and explained, making me look even more stupid.
