I used to have that ungodly huge tank in the back garden area. I thought it held like a million litres or so. If an option, wouldn't natural gas be cheaper?

Gas is about 25% of the cost of oil. No option for gas in my area I am afraid, too far from the mains ...

I had no natural gas option either.

Here in KS, all utilities are put in before the streets...and of course homes are started.

$2.509 for 87 octane 10/19/08 Leavenworth, KS

$2.69 today for my other car. Unfortunately my retirement accounts are only worth about 6 gallons now!

Southeast Ga. on the Florida border $2.38 for regular. I live 30 miles south in Florida, it is pretty amazing some months the difference from Fl to Ga is just 5-8 cents other months there is as much 50 cents difference as there is now. Go figure. As for retirement funds most of my buddies are averaging 50 to 70 k losses in their funds with 8 years to retirement

I really believe this is the calm before the storm, there are too many variables being forced into the economic picture. I hope the economy can sustain these hits. The only smoking gun is consumer debt, where a lot of Americans are living (comfortably) on the edge. These increases are going to take away any marginal float many Americans are living with.
I posted this on June 7th of this year, at that time I had know idea that it would get this f##ked up, we have greatly underestimated the future consequences. Real Estate is a bloodbath here in Florida and I do not see any relief for at least 20 months. Hold on and stay debt free and liquid.

It is never easy being a Sox fan, they keep you on the edge all of the time. It has been a great series for both teams and they are both deserving.
BOOBIES LOVE THE SOX

$2.19/gallon 87 Oct, $2.39/gallon 91 Oct, just over the KS/MO border on the Missouri side. Getting better but OPEC may now kick in their own form of greed with lower production.

Greed is good.

OPEC is doing what they should do - get the most they can for their product. It's capitalism! :D

The US should do the same with food, Canada too for that matter.

Huh? Are you saying you sell food in the US without maximizing the profit? Why would that be?

I'm not going to be baited into that level of conversation on this forum. I think we have more fun things to do here.

Cheers,
Greg

Uh...baiting? Not sure what you think I'm getting at but I don't understand why you think I'm baiting you.....whatever....still don't understand why food would be sold below market prices. I don't think we do that here that I know of.

Hey you brought it up, I'm just trying to understand what the heck you are talking about. I can see that there's no point, so adios to this one....
